Workshop: Using AudioMulch Software to Create Useful and Immediate Sound An introduction to the basics of sound creation with AudioMulch for musicians, sound designers and anyone using sound as an integral part of their creative output e.g. visual artists and new media practitioners. AudioMulch is a useful learning tool - which is why I have chosen to use it in this workshop. It displays the organisation of your composition like a flow diagram, making it easy to understand the path of the sound. I've learnt most of what I know about electronic sound manipulation and the way sound works through using it. I use Audiomulch for live performance; manipulating the sound of my mandolin as I play it, or to create whole compositions 'on the spot'. In this workshop, I'll be using AudioMulch as a blank canvas to introduce some of the most basic and useful ways of creating sound. Even if you choose not to use it on an ongoing basis, AudioMulch provides a very good path into the most creative areas of sound manipulation. Read more about AudioMulch here. Especially have a look at its Metasurface - a map like interface for controlling sound. Here's a video of an installation I made using AudioMulch. |
